The gold border of the panel originally had punched decoration, but today traces of this are only visible on the right side. Similar decoration could be seen in the haloes and at the end of the shepherd’s staff.

Provenance:
In the collection of Blasius Höfel before being acquired by Karl Lemann and then Arnold Ipolyi. ‘109. Kneeling figure of a priest next to ecce homo and St. Giles. Mortuarium on a wood panel, original frame. 15th c.’ (Lakatos-Balla 281).
