The Museum is situated in the Primate’s Palace on the bank of the Danube below the Castle Hill. From the town centre it can be reached via Pázmány street; from the Basilica, via the steps called Macskalépcső built into the side of the hill.

Road
From Budapest take Road 10 on the route Budapest-Dorog-Esztergom or Road 11 on the route Budapest-Szentendre-Visegrád-Esztergom. From Tatabánya, take Road 11.

There are designated parking places for cars and buses in front of the Museum building. There is a 150 Ft/hour parking fee Monday-Friday 8.00-17.00 and Saturday 8.00-12.00. On weekdays, there are free parking places near the Maria Valeria Bridge on the island, 5 minutes from the Museum.

Buses leave Budapest from Árpád-híd Bus Station. The ride takes 1 hour 20 minutes on the route Budapest-Dorog-Esztergom and 2 hours 5 minutes on the route Budapest-Visegrád-Esztergom. Bus schedule

Train
Trains leave Budapest from the Budapest-Nyugati Station and reach Esztergom on the route Budapest-Piliscsaba-Dorog-Esztergom. The duration of the ride (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes) varies. Train schedule

Boat
In summer, Esztergom can be reached with the scheduled excursion boats of Mahart Passnave (5 hours 30 minutes - 4 hours 30 minutes). Boat schedule. At weekends, also hydrofoils are in service (2 hours - 1 hour 45 minutes). Hydrofoil schedule

Accessibility
The permanent exhibition, located on the second floor of the Primate’s Palace, is not yet accessible for visitors with disabilities. The street-level entrance provides access to the temporary exhibition in the ground floor rooms.
